Lawton Dance Collective offers specialized workshops for schools and dance centers, catered to the needs and goals of the student community. Taught by Artistic Director Julia Lawton, along with company dance artists, LDC can accommodate a variety of scheduling requests, including single workshops and longer residencies.
LDC's contemporary dance workshop is based on modern techniques and phrasework, built using movement vocabulary from our repertory. As a women-led company, we prioritize a safe, positive learning environment centered around empathy, collaboration, kindness, and community. Workshops may include selections of repertory, creative components based in improvisation/prompt-based creation, floorwork, and partner work.
